Well written. The biggest word you write here ? Apprentice … sitting at the feet of The Rabbi yet also following so close behind him that we pick up the dust from His sandles. Yet still - not only that we are Him but that He is in us…… Using us as His instrument.
Our feet - His to take us to where He wants to use us in this moment.
Our hands - to do His will.
Our lips, tongue and voice box - His to speak the words as He directs.
Without Him we can do nothing (Jn 15)- yet in Him we can do all things (Phi 4:13) Missio Dei - His work but He wants to use us.
All about surrender and obedience that can only come out of intimacy.
Yes, I agree Keith. It is so powerful to know that Jesus does not need us to do the work. It's his work to do, but for whatever reason he wants to involve us. He wants to make his children a part of the process. I find that beautiful.
It reminds me of my son. He's four years old. I don't need his help fixing something in the garage. And in fact, he oftentimes makes it more difficult to do so. :)
But I love to bring him in. I love to make him a part of the process. Simply because I love him and I want him to learn my ways.

It's an incredible thing to respond to the Holy Spirit when you sense he's telling you to write something and then trusting that those words will find the right people.

It struck me last week that I’ve completely misframed Acts 2:42 my whole life.
All those practices were to stabilize the encounter with God that happened on Pentecost. Not replace it.
