As a Gen Z'er, I want everyone to read this. Zooming out to understand the greater story in what feels like an overwhelming world of self-help tips (good intentioned or not) made all the difference for my faith. I am so encouraged by these reminders.

I think gen z (as a gen z'er) needs application yes but not application that is about living your best life now or that is merely individual but that is also ecclesiological. we need to see the ethics of the kingdom that lead to churches that care for the poor, widows and orphans, churches that proclaim the gospel, that resist evil whether from the right or the left, that break down societal divisions with a doctrine of reconciliation to God that is shared by all who believe whether black, white, Asian, male or female, churches that don't act like they are above the fray but care deeply about the people in their community. I think this is important in light of the stories that gen z has heard from many including people from their generation about the harm people have received in churches. I think gen z needs not only themselves to live in accordance with the way of Jesus but also need to see that lived out in the church. All of us need and gen z needs for there to be a vision for living the Christian life that isn't just about you living good but also the church as a whole living these things out. To use the language of Scot McKnight, we need application that leads not only to tov individuals but also tov churches
